What is a receiving agent?

"Receiving agent" is a German term that refers to a person or entity authorized by another person or entity to receive documents, correspondence or other items on their behalf.

For example, if someone is unable to collect a package or letter in person, they can appoint a "receiver" to receive it on their behalf. In legal contexts, a “receiver” may be appointed to receive legal documents or notices on behalf of a company or organization.
